KITDVLPMNT is a transformational mentorship journey designed to help budding hairdressers define their objectives, create actionable plans, and unlock new heights of success and growth through career planning and mentoring.

The mentorship process focuses on supporting hairdressers with experience, who have a passion for their artistry and are looking to take themselves to the next level by leveraging their digital brand to enhance their careers

Our mentors during this journey include Karrie Fitz, Rachael Grieve and Erris Burke. Rachael gives guidance and insight into PR, brand, networking, and content creation, along with understanding your personal brand to stay ahead of the curve. While our newest KIT mentor Erris Burke is a TikTok expert, with over 200,000 organic followers on the platform. Erris uses her social expertise and distinct perspective to create connections with audiences by understanding how to create captivating content and ultimately to how to go viral.

Through the mentorship program, our mentees have developed invaluable skills and experienced both personal and professional growth. Both mentors are available for mentorship.

We interviewed some of our talented mentees; Zofija Witch and Rheanna Wood to understand how the mentorship journey influenced their lives and careers. Here's what they had to say:

  • How has the KIT DVLPMNT mentorship helped you grow? What was the most significant takeaway from the mentorship journey?

Zofija – Speaking with Karrie personally, having one-to-one meetings, working through tasks and shadow work together really helped me to understand myself better, why I’m doing things, and why I’m so passionate about my work. It helped me to realise which direction I want to move in from now on and what actions I’m going to be taking to achieve my dreams.

Rheanna – The mentorship has helped me find my own path and identity in the industry, and set a clear path from my personal hair and salon work.

The beauty of the hair industry is there are so many avenues to explore that suit all personalities, lifestyles and goals. It can be a minefield working out how to pursue these things, what is suited to you and if you want to do them all how to make that viable. It also helps people in the industry get exposure to other parts that they may have not even known about.

Mentorship is needed for sure! To help people work towards their individual goals.

  • What inspired you to pursue a career in the hairdressing industry, and how has your journey been so far?

Zofija –  My transition inspired me to start working in the hair industry, because I realised how important hair is when it comes to self-expression.

Rheanna – My career journey has been pretty fast and fun. I was lucky to fall into a lot of fun opportunities like fashion week, shoots and shows very early on. The advice I would give is to network, meet other hairdressers, and go to shows and industry events - everyone is so cool and friendly. I’ve got some of my best opportunities from people just liking me and not even seeing my hair abilities. Whether you want to work in a salon, own a salon, teach, travel, be mobile, focus on colour, trends, Instagram, celebrity styling or more, the world really is your oyster so get stuck in!

We are incredibly proud of our mentees' accomplishments and grateful for our mentors' dedication. KIT DVLPMNT will continue to be a leading force in supporting emerging talents in the hair industry.
